Meet Kathleen Fraser
With over 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. Kathleen Fraser L.Ac. Dipl. AC., C.Ht. is well-known for her effective acupuncture treatments, herbal prescriptions, healing presence and guided meditations. Her successful clinical outcomes makes her a much-sought-after practitioner. Dr. Fraser specializes in the treatment of chronic and acute pain, neck, shoulder, back, and leg pain, as well as PTSD, digestive disorders, migraines, insomnia, depression, gynecological disorders, infertility, weight management, depression, anxiety and addiction and more. She designs a personalized treatment plan that includes acupuncture, herbal remedies (if needed), nutritional guidelines, and exercise and lifestyle recommendations.
Dr. Fraser graduated with her Masters from the Maryland University of Integrative Health of Laurel, MD in 1997. In 2001, she earned her hypnotherapy certificate from the Eastern Shore Institute of Hypnotherapy. She specializes in hypnosis for stress management, symptoms associated with PTSD, weight control, and work and sports performance. Most recently, Dr. Fraser received her Doctorate of Acupuncture from the Pacific College of Health and Science in NYC. Her studies focused on systematic research reviews that highlight the effectiveness of acupuncture treatment for a variety of disorders.
Serving as Board Member for the Acupuncture Society of Virginia, Dr. Fraser worked on legislation that defines the scope of practice of acupuncture in Virginia and in America. Lecturing for corporations such as Thomas Reuters of Washington, D.C. and the National Education Association, Dr. Fraser speaks regularly about holistic medicine on a professional level.
Dr. Fraser has extensive training in 5 Element Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Auricular Acupuncture, and Japanese Meridian therapy. Having practiced in the U.S. for 23 years and in Japan for 2 years, she has trained with Master Shudo Denmai of Oita, Japan and Dr. Takahashi Jo of Shang Hai, China. Upon her return to the States, she developed and supervised the Healthy Alternatives Department at Calvert Memorial Hospital and has served the Washington, DC metropolitan area since 1997. In the Spring of 2023, she opened Middleburg Acupuncture & Apothecary in Middleburg, Virginia. Her practice is now a community hub for good health, holistic wellness, and rejuvenation.
